The Chitrakot is a waterfall on the Indravati River, located near
Jagadalpur, in the Indian stateof Chhattisgarh.

The height of the fall is 100 feet.

Chitrakot Waterfall is supposed to be the Niagara Falls of India.
It is the broadest water fall in India.

The River Indravati falls from a height of 29 m (96 ft) to form this
waterfall.

The area around the falls is largely forested. Nearby is the
Kanger Ghati National Parkand the Indiravati Tiger Reserve.

These waterfalls are best seen during Monsoons.

Mandu

Located 40km from Dhar; 98km from Indore.

Situated at an altitude of 634m.

It extends for 13 km (8 miles) along the crest of the Vindhya
Range.

Mandu gained eminence only near the end of the 10th century
when the Paramaras formed an independent kingdom here.

Mandu is also famous for its special kind of tamarind known as Mandu ki Imli; the fruit looks like a papaya. It is a fruit of boabab tree.

Mandu is the city of love and delight; after all one of its most
famous legends is the love story of Baz Bahadur and Rani
Roopmati.

It was built by Afghans.

Orchha

Orchha (or Urchha) is a town in Tikamgarh district of Madhya
Pradesh state, India. Orchha lies on the Betwa River, 15 km.
from Jhansiin Uttar Pradesh.

Orchha was founded in the 16th century A.D. by the Bundela
chieftain, Rudra Pratap.

Orchha is situated on the bank of river Betwa.

It was the oldest and highest in rank of all the Bundela states,
with a 17-gun salute, and its Maharajas bore the hereditary title of First of the Princes of Bundelkhand.

The town was the seat of an eponymous former princely state of central India, in the Bundelkhand region.

Orchha (‘The Hidden Place’) is set amongst a wonderful
complex of well preserved palaces and temples.

Lutyens is said to have been inspired by Bundela architecture
while designing New Delhi.

Sanchi Stupa

The Great Stupa is located 46 km north east of Bhopal, and 10
km from Besnagar and Vidisha in the central part of the state of
Madhya Pradesh.

The Sanchi Stupa is surrounded by a railing with four carved
gateways facing all the four directions.

There is an image of a Greek warrior guarding the gates.

The gateways of Sanchi stupas contain ornamented depiction of
incidents from the life of the Buddha and his previous
incarnations.

The `Great Stupa` at Sanchi was originally commissioned by the
emperor Ashoka.

It was crowned by the chatra, a parasol-like structure
symbolising high rank, which was intended to honour and
shelter the relics.

Today, Buddhism has a wide appeal and the site is visited by
people from around the world.

Located near Bhopal.

The caves include the scenes from the everyday life, depicting
household scenes, haunting, dancing, animal fighting, elephant riders, honey collections, body tattooing, music.

838 caves spread on a total area of 1850 hectares.

The Bhimbetka shelters exhibit the earliest traces of human life
in India.

The oldest rock paintings are found in the cave dating back
more than 12000 years.

It is the biggest repository of prehistoric art in India.

They depict the life & times of early man.

Kanha National Park

Kanha National Park is a national park and a Tiger Reserve in
the Mandla and Balaghat districts of Madhya Pradesh.

The Kanha National Park in Madhya Pradesh came into being in 1955 and forms the core of the Kanha Tiger Reserve, created in
1974 under Project ‘Tiger’.

Kanha shelters one of the largest populations of the tigers in the country and is well placed in a horse-shoe shaped valley.

Some of the other larger animal species found in the park are
sloth bear, leopard, striped hyena, spotted dear, wild boar,
jungle cat, jackal and a variety of monkeys.

Over 200 species of birds have been spotted in the park.

Khajuraho

Khajuraho is a village in Madhya Pradesh, located in Chhatarpur District, about 620 kilometers southeast of Delhi.

The Khajuraho temples adhere to a northern Indian shikhara
temple style and often to a Panchayatana plan or layout.

Kandariya Mahadeva, comprises eighty-four shikharas, the
main being 116 feet from the ground level.

The Khajuraho temples were built over a span of a hundred
years, from 950A.D. to 1050A.D. They were rediscovered
during the late 19th century.

Khajuraho has the largest group of medieval Hindu and Jain
temples, famous for their everyday life sculpture.
